CoScout ("we," "our," "us") is operated as a sole proprietorship by Raghav Ramakrishnan Iyer. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use CoScout (the "Service").

Information we collect

• Name and email address (account registration)
• Payment information — processed securely by Razorpay; we never store card or UPI details
• Skill category preferences and filter settings
• Usage data (features accessed, leads viewed, actions taken within the Service)
• Publicly available Reddit post data processed to generate your lead feed

How we use your information

• To create and manage your account
• To provide and improve the Service
• To process payments and manage your subscription via Razorpay
• To send transactional emails (billing, account updates, product notices)
• To generate a personalised lead feed based on your skill settings

Your data is processed in India and the United States. We do not sell your data to any third party.

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. On account deletion, your personal data is deleted within 30 days unless retention is required by law.

Security

We implement reasonable security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and encryption at rest (AES-256). In the event of a reportable cyber incident, we will notify CERT-In within 6 hours of becoming aware and will notify affected users without undue delay.

Your rights

You may at any time request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, or withdraw consent for processing. Email support@coscout.in. We will respond within 30 days.

As required under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, a Grievance Officer has been appointed:

Updates to this policy

We may update this policy. We will notify you by email or prominent notice on the website. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
